COMMISSIONS
Every piece is made once
There is no collection to buy from. You commission a jewel and it is made a single time, for you.
The process below is how every Karlito piece is made, from one ring to a full parure. You approve each stage before the next begins, and nothing is manufactured until you have seen and signed off the final design.

01
The Conversation
We meet, in person in Dubai or by video. You tell me what the piece is for, what you are drawn to, and whether you already have a stone. There is no obligation at this stage.
02
The Proposal
I come back to you with a direction. Not a finished drawing yet, a proposal: the form, the motif, the stones, the scale, and roughly what it will cost to make.
03
The Design
The piece is drawn properly. This is where it becomes real, and where your input matters most. Alterations are unlimited. I would rather redraw a piece five times than make the wrong one once.
04
Approval
You approve the final design. At this point you have a preliminary cost for the commission, accurate enough to commit to.
05
Modeling
The approved design is modelled in three dimensions, which takes one to two weeks. The model gives exact metal weights and stone counts, and with them the final cost, which replaces the preliminary figure.
06
Manufacture
A deposit of fifty percent is taken. Stones and metal are bought and the piece goes to the bench. Every important stone is certified before it is set.
07
Delivery
The balance is settled and the piece is delivered, with its certification, its specification sheet and its case.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A single ring typically takes six to ten weeks from approval. A full parure takes longer.
A design fee applies per piece and covers the design stage, including unlimited alterations. It is quoted at the first conversation and credited against the commission.
If you are supplying your own stone, say so at the first conversation. Karlito works with client stones regularly.
