The Work
Every piece is developed as a singular work. The starting point is usually a stone or an idea, never a catalogue. From there the piece is drawn, modelled in three dimensions, approved, and then made by hand at the bench. Nothing is produced in series.
The house has a recognisable way of building a jewel. Form comes first and ornament second. A motif is sculpted, not applied. Stones are set individually, graduated by hand, and chosen for colour before size.
Where a piece carries an animal or a flower it is built to be anatomically true rather than stylised, and it is built into the wearable plane of the jewel so that it can actually be worn. Clasps are integrated into the design and read as part of the piece when closed.
The stones
Karlito works in natural stones. Sapphires, rubies, emeralds, spinels, opals, jadeite and diamonds, selected individually for each commission.
Every important stone is certified by an independent laboratory, and the certificate is delivered with the finished piece.
The founder
Karlito is the work of Karl-Alexandre Chiniara, who designs every piece himself. He was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2025.
The maison's pieces have been worn on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, and by Naomi Campbell, Maria Borges and Nicki Minaj
